Thailand Hits 10 Million International Tourists

The Prime Minister of Thailand welcomed the 10th millionth Thai tourist to Thailand on Saturday (10/12) and expressed gratitude for all parties’ efforts in revitalizing tourism.

According to Thailand’s tourism authority, Thailand welcomed its 10 millionth visitor from abroad in 2022. This was as part of the kingdom’s efforts to consolidate its Covid-battered travel industry.
Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn (Minister of Tourism and Sports), Yuthasak Supasorn (Governor of Tourism Authority of Thailand) and Kittikachorn, General Manager of Suvarnabhumi Airport, were there to receive the guests.

This was a significant achievement for the country
Premier said that welcoming ten million tourists was a landmark achievement for Thailand and underlines the confidence of international travelers in Thailand.

On Saturday, the government hosted events in Thailand. There were cultural shows at seven Thai airports and two border crossings to celebrate achieving the goal before the year ends. Tourists arriving at airports or land borders were presented with garlands and gift bags by officials dressed in traditional Thai clothing.

Everyone worked hard to overcome the challenges that caused the kingdom’s gradual, sustainable reopening following the global pandemic. He expressed his gratitude to everyone for their hospitality and care for international guests.
